Cookies


This website uses session cookies. These are temporary small text files that are erased once you exit your web browser window or shut your computer down. Privacy policy


BCCN Heidelberg/Mannheim takes the protection of personal data very seriously. This privacy policy tells you what data we collect and how we use them. We comply with the guidelines set out in the state data protection law, state hospital law, and the Teleservices Data Protection Act. Our technical and organizational processes are designed to ensure that we comply fully with data protection guidelines.These internet pages are stored on a server located in the Federal Republic of Germany from which they are made accessible to the public.

User data


In connection with the use of our range of online services, we collect data on our server for backup purposes. This information might allow individual users to be identified. Every time a user opens a page, data regarding the process is saved in the webserver‘s logfile. These logfiles contain information your browser transmits to us including:

1. Browser type/version
2. Operating system used
3. URL accessed
4. Files accessed/ amount of data downloaded
5. Host name of computer accessing website (IP address)
6. Date and time of server access

These data are not assessed to identify users. They are rendered anonymous and stripped of any personal data provided, saved in logfiles and used only for statistical purposes. We reserve the right to analyze anonymous databanks. No individual user profiles are created, not even using pseudonymous data. Under no circumstances do we pass stored data on to third parties. All data is immediately deleted after the logfiles have been evaluated.

Personal information


Personal information is information that could be used to identify you as a user. This includes information like names, addresses and telephone numbers. As a rule, you can use our range of online services without revealing your identity. If you request written informational materials, we will ask you for personal information. Whether you provide this information is entirely up to you. Until we have completed your request, we store any data you have provided on a server located on our premises. Access to this server is limited to just a few authorized individuals involved in technical, commercial or editorial server support. After your request has been completed (such as sending any informational materials you have requested) your data is immediately deleted. Only if you expressly ask to be added to our press and information mailing list will we store your data long-term on a computer in the Communication and Media Department where it can only be accessed by the people employed there.

Sharing personal information with third parties


At BCCN Heidelberg/Mannheim we only use your personal information from requests or orders for informational materials internally. We do not provide any information to third parties.

Right to information


The user has the right to obtain the personal information we have stored about him or her, its origin and recipients, at any time. The user may also obtain information about the purpose the data was collected for. The Communication and Media Department will provide this information.

Right to revoke


If you provided personal information as part of our online services, you have the right to request these be deleted at any time.
